It was once perceived as the strongest and toughest threat to all political parties as the midnight romance of the biggest administration party’s political allies coalesced in a hurry. They boasted of unparallel cohesion, political and financial machinery and of course winning the presidential derby with Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro as their standard-bearer.

But as quick as it merged, is also its quick disintegration with cracks becoming more and more visible to the public eye.

Where has all the political money has gone? Where is the massive political war chest? All these claims of the Lakas-Kampi-CMD have become weightless as helium and a war chest only full of dusts and mites.

And defections of even their strongest allies and political patrons to join Villar’s bandwagon are only confirming the propagandists’ campaign of a “Villaroyo”.

Gibo Teodoro is left out in the cold and seemingly has been destined to lose the race as soon as he was chosen as the standard-bearer, as the highest leaders of Lakas-Kampi-CMD particularly the Arroyo couple are rooting for another candidate.

As they say, if there is a will, there is way; and not even the most cunning of Lakas-Kampi’s political operators shows any zeal and jest of making Gibo win a very tough race and the only best way for individual political survival is to jump ship and leave their comrade fighting a personal political battle.

Poor Gibo Teodoro; waging a political campaign of Walang-LAKAS, Walang-KaKAMPI.

Gibo said it right when interviewed about the defections, that politicians who do not have a word of honor reveals their bad character, and politicians with bad character should never be voted into public positions.

Maybe, if Gibo runs as an independent, leaves his non-sense political party and wags off the venom of the Arroyo administration anointed on his head, he may easily become one of best choice between Aquino and Villar who had epitomized the art of political mudslinging and black propaganda on their quest for the top spot.

What is your thought on how the political campaign of Gibo Teodoro is running with all the defections and perceived lack of support to his candidacy of his party?

So check yourselves, maybe you will be the next big time impersonator in the Philippines.

Presidentiable Gibo Teodoro’s camp through its arm Palit Galing is coming up with a stunt or to technically call it campaign strategy, in order to boost the popularity of their bet for the Philippine elections in May 2010.

Dubbed as the “Search for Mr. Gwapo at Talino (GT)”; this male pageant searches for “handsome and intelligent men, 18-35 years old, who are willing to campaign for presidential candidate Gilbert Teodoro.” The program takes off from the Teodoro’s slogan “Galing at Talino” with the finals night to be held on the last week of April 2010 in Plaza Miranda.

How to Qualify?

Contestants should be both “gwapo” (handsome) and “matalino” (intelligent)’ embody Gibo’s decency, can articulate Gibo’s platform, and will campaign for Gibo especially on poor areas.

Winner will receive a cash prize.

May take on this?

I think this is a cheap strategy that is founded on superficial valuing of the person and the importance of election more so the intelligence of votes and their right to be educated. It will also not necessarily be very effective for Gibo as the contest and popularity of the winners will not automatically translate into trust, more so votes for him.

Anchored on being “gwapo” (handsome) and “talino” (intelligent) alone speaks of its lack of chic and intelligent strategy for campaign. It seems then that the vote-rich Class D and E can easily be swayed to vote for Gibo just by the campaigning of the winner of this contest.

And while Gibo’s slogan is Galing at Talino, the contest has shifted to Gwapo at Talino? Why? Hmmm…maybe Gibo is not at all that gwapo, hahaha!

Well, best of luck to the organizers of this campaign stunt.

Unfortunately, I am just all “gwapo” (good looks) but not at all that “matalino” (intelligent); that alone disqualifies me to join.

What do you think of this campaign strategy of Gibo Teodoro? Will it be effective and may do wonders to his low ratings?

Politicians are flocking to different religious leaders like hungry migratory birds looking for more abundant warmer fields, courting them and indirectly asking to be chosen as the anointed one; and in effect may win the presidency with the tsunami of votes that these religious congregations may give the lucky guy.

Gibo Teodoro, Erap Estrada, Manny Villar, Eddie Villanueva and Noynoy Aquino are all courting Mike Villarde of El Shaddai, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy of Kingdom of Jesus Christ, and the Manalo’s of the Iglesia Ni Cristo and only a few of these Presidentiables approaching Catholic Bishops. These religious groups usually practice “block voting” and have proven to really deliver crucial votes.

Archbishop Cruz was indeed right in saying, “I am very happy I’m not God because if I were God, I would not know what to do…I think God must be having fun.”

But more than the pun Cruz shares is the underlying ill that this exercise of Presidentiables in assuring a seat in Malacañang brings to the democratic process and public governance; putting public governance and policies hostage to religious institutions who pushes also their faith-based and institutional agenda.

This is made visible recently with the Reproductive Health Bill that was stalled and was eventually crushed in the House of Representatives as the Catholic Church and religious groups bullied politicians into choosing to throw the important piece of legislation into the trash bin; threatening of campaigning against those who pushed for it. And not only will these religious leaders gain a strong position on meddling with the dynamics of government process and policies but may also end up getting the better end of projects and contracts as Mike Velarde’s real estate company is being accused earning billions from overvalued lands sold to government during the time of Erap Estrada. And the RH Bill is not the only legislation and government policy that fall prey to intimidation and meddling of religious groups and institutions.

These endorsements do not come for free. God’s anointment is for a certain price the Filipino will have to eventually pay.

And while all these Presidentiables are promising us that they are their own man and will never yield to anyone or groups when eventually seated as a president, as early as now, we are already seeing who will once again have the upper hand on the shaping of public policies; more powerful than the votes of the common citizens. And gratitude may soon get the best out of the upcoming President.

This practice is a show of desperation for Presidentiables, campaigning of the lowest kind and the cheapest way of earning the Presidency:Â to trade the noblest (ideally) position in the land and power to serve to religious groups that hinder its followers on following the dictates of their own conscience and hindering them to practice their God-given power of freewill.

For now, none of these religious groups have yet raised a particular hand and told its millions of followers that “This is the man that God told me that will become the next President.”

Negotiations and bargaining maybe are still being discussed? *grinning*

Now it makes me remember the preacher Wilde Almeda saying that God told him that Joe De Venecia is going to be the president during the 1998 elections betting to be shot dead if his bet will not win. But Estrada won. Velarde’s God was the more precise fortune-teller.

And now after almost 12 years, Almeda is still preaching.

What is your thought about Presidentiables and politicians in general asking for endorsements from religious leaders? How will these endorsements affect government policies?

It is not only dismal survey ratings that presidential aspirant Gibo Teodoro needs to hurdle; only affirming that it follows, the kiss of a death certainly does not attract lady luck.

I checked out the new blog of my buddy Aaron PinoyGossipBoy.Ph on its new wordpress-powered home (congratulations Bro!) and he got a post about Rico Blanco crying foul on Twitter over Teodoro using his song “Posible” on his TV ad that we have been seeing lately on primetime.

Rico Blanco who is now working solo had these series of tweets regarding what seemed like an act against intellectual property rights committed by the bar top-notcher (via twitter.com @1ricoblanco):

i’m itching to tweet about this VERY STRANGE intellectual property issue that came to my attention just last night.)

i’d like to understand how can a presidentiable can overlook a simple matter such as intellectual property. command responsibility

ok finally saw it. very nice ad. but wow. they even copied my singing/voice. so it cant be that they just werent aware i existed. sakitsaulo

As Aaron pointed out, this is an issue of ownership, whether Rico Blanco was the one composed or who sang the song, the one who owns it inked on paper still has the right over the use of it, in this case used on Gilbert Teodoro’s political advertisement.

I first thought that Rico Blanco is the one singing the song for the ad, and so thought of too that he supports Gibo, the same way Gloc9 supports Bro. Eddie Villanueva and Regine Velasquez for Noynoy Aquino and Madam Auring supports the freak Atty. Lozano.

Putting aside all the legal implications and show biz buzz it could generate; the real question lies on its effect on Gilbert Teodoro’s candidacy, knowing his very poor and consistent performance on survey ratings among the presidentiables hanging on the bottom end of the race like VW Beettle racing against Ferraris and Corvettes.

Unlike the world of celebrities, any rumors, gossips, sex scandals and allegations like this will certainly give a presidentiable extra media mileage (more TV guesting and movie projects) but unfortunately will lose precious votes and confidence from the public that lives and dies on personalities, pedigree and big names. At a crucial presidential campaign for May 2010 elections, Gibo direly if not desperately needs more votes, more good news, more “pogi points” (more hair maybe, but Noynoy needs double of what Gibo needs to be planted on his skull) and never issues like this.

He may not be sued, or embroiled in a legal tussle, sex scandal caught on tape, but as clear as the morning sun and as sure as another failure of total automated election, Gibo is losing the race towards the Palace.

Any thoughts guys? With this new development, do you think Gibo Teodoro still have the chance to win the presidency?

The present political situation in lieu of the May 2010 elections is becoming more dynamic:Â more positive for others whose ratings are soaring on surveys while scrounging into building a formidable winning formula for others.

And when we say a camp that is scrounging into building a formidable presidential powerhouse for next years’ national polls, what easily comes to mind is the administration party rallying behind the joined forces of the new political party of Lakas-Kampi-CMD which is by the way the biggest political party in the country to date despite the recent defections.

So far, it is Sec. Gilbert Teodoro who has been chosen as their standard-bearer for the presidential post that had sidelined or forced some aspirants to leave the party like cry babies, Bayani Fernando and Hermogenes Ebadane to new a few.

But up to now, the administration party is still looking for that person who will become Teodoro’s running mate for May 2010 to form a perfect winning tandem.  Despite the obvious vast war chest of the administration, the lack of a vice-presidentiable for their campaign up to this moment floats the obvious manifestation of the administration’s political disintegration and desperation.

Some politicians that are being eyed to become Gilbert Teodoro’s running mate are Sen. Bong Revilla, former Senator Tito Sotto, Tourism Secretary Ace Durano and former Optical Media Board Chairman Edu Manzano. Though the administration party said it has been making talks with Sen. Loren Legarda, it did not really flourish as she is now rumored to be going to Villar’s side.

And so, though this may become some non-sense exercise on my part or even an insult on some anti-administration readers to take a poll on this issue for surely many of us if not most of us will not vote for the administration’s highest two candidates; I would still want to ask you guys about your opinion about the fate of Gibo Teodoro.

Who are you rooting to become Sec. Gilbert Teodoro’s running mate on the May 2010 national elections? Your votes could help us give some glimpse into what is going into the mind of the electorate or readers and bloggers as to the administration’s rallying and standing for the Presidential race next year.
