Marlene Aguilar Pollard, Genius and Blinded

She is blinded.

Marlene Aguilar Pollard, mother of Jason Ivler, is living a divided life trying to save her son from the grasp of lady justice by vocally professing her motherhood as if this alone could already wash away the blood from Jason’s hands and escape the fangs of retribution.

From the initial silent admiration of a few for her standing up beside her son, protecting him despite all his wrongdoings, she has gone to sing incoherent hymns that only she could totally comprehend. Again, as if these could save her son from being placed behind bars.

Jason Ivler is Innocent for Marlene Aguilar

Yes, that has been the mantra that Marlene Aguilar has been chanting every time she faces the press; that her son did not kill anyone, and her son lived a life as immaculate as the late Mother Teresa of Calcutta: this of course despite the overwhelming pieces of evidence heavily outweighing all alibis that she has been lawyering for her son.

When there was still a wide manhunt of Jason Ivler, with even an innocent Filipino named Jason Aguilar getting imprisoned in the Middle East for mistaken identity thought to be by the authorities as the suspect, she said that she did not know the whereabouts of his beloved son, and shed tears pleading that Jason should turn himself instead to authorities. Only to find out later that she was cuddling her son all these time on the basement of their house and even put into grave danger the arresting team as Jason ruthlessly peppered NBI agents with bullets from his high-powered firearms.

If that is innocence, I just don’t know how to describe a person’s capability for violence that is guilty.

To find more room to clear his son, she dragged the Commission on Human Rights into the picture for alleging that Jason was inhumanely mistreated by the arresting team. Maybe the NBI should have babied Ivler instead? But take my word, none of them may have escaped the mayhem and may have ended up embracing a back hoe.

Not getting contented as her allegations were obviously baseless and senseless, she floated the notion that since Jason Ivler is an American citizen and they have many connections to influential politicians in Washington, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is already preparing papers in order to process the exoneration of his son from the hands of Philippine authorities. Once again, only to find out that Jason Ivler is also wanted by the FBI for drug-related case in US soil.

Marlene Aguilar Pollard and Son are Geniuses

If we cannot understand her from the point-of-view of using our common sense, or even from the point-of-view of that motherhood instinct she is boldly trying to paint into the public’s consciousness, Marlene has offered us another more puzzling alternative.

“We are [with son Jason Ivler] genius[es], borderline insanity. My intelligence is way above most people. Does that make me insane?”

And in order to prove her supreme intelligence, Marlene Aguilar has floated the idea of conspiracy theories on many events that she said she had prior knowledge, or has the key to the real thing behind it.

“I wrote a book exposing the twin towers attack (which) is an inside job. I exposed that Nazi-Germany was funded by American businessmen. If American businessmen funded Nazi-Germany, who bombed Pearl Harbor?”

These statements do not only equal to those given by Wilde Almeda that Joe de Venecia will win the presidential election on 1998 further lessening its credence, but also makes it even more impossible for Hillary Clinton to help this mother-and-son tandem be exonerated from their wrongdoings.

Marlene Aguilar Warns of an International Unrest

Her husband, ADB Senior Economist Stephen Pollard is also being investigated as to his knowledge of Ivler’s whereabouts looking for possible cases to file against him; and Marlene came to his husbands’s rescue as fast as Jason’s bullets, warning the Philippine government that her husband is protected by international agreements.

“Deporting my husband would destroy the government’s ties with the international community.”

And since when does giving justice to where it is due has been penalized by the international community? Maybe when Hitler was still alive? The only thing I know on that matter is that GMA is only one of those who is left unpunished after all the human rights violations during her term.

Ivler is Now a Hero to all the Youth, WTF!

Don’t get so insane yet guys, or so genius? Well, Marlene Aguilar has thanked all those who supported his son after all these challenges that they are enduring as a family. Martyrdom? Hmmm…Be ready to get crazy now. Marlene said that she is very happy that her son has become a hero to many young people. WTF!? Since when has a guy who has shot the daylight out of a commuter due to a traffic altercation and has almost massacred the NBI arresting team has become a hero for our youth? This is like saying that the Filipino nation is so indebted to Gloria Arroyo for being the most honest president this nation has ever had.

“The world has been so cruel to my son, but he has around 10,000 fans writing us every day, doing all they can to give Jason justice,” she said. “Salamat sa mga [Thank you to the] fans ni Jason Ivler. Let there be justice for rich and poor Filipino people.”

Marlene is Maybe a Genius but Certainly Blinded

I can’t imagine what this world could become if motherhood means protecting your son and even maybe lying for him despite the overwhelming evidence cast on him for suspected murder cases. I can’t imagine what would happen to families if mothers will just condone the serious crimes their children has committed and even call these acts heroic.

I am a son, a brother and a young father. Love does not end certainly, it never ceases. But it should certainly know how to discipline. Without that, love is nothing but a constant appeasement of everything, a constant daylight, or a cake made of pure icing with nothing but pure air inside.

Motherhood is one if not the greatest gift to humanity; but it has even more greater responsibility to the whole of humanity.  Motherhood should not only enlighten the home but lead humanity into the path where the light of justice, equality, love and fairness shine unhindered.

She says that she love her son, but for me the minimum requirement of love and compassion is justice. Without this, expect to live in a world full of chaos, as blind men are leading their fellow blind men into the cliff of moral and social decay.

My imagination has already ceased to discover more uncharted paths about this kind of motherhood…as I am not a genius.  And if this is what genius is, I would be very glad to choose being a moronic blogger instead.

How about you guys? Are you geniuses too? What is your reaction to how Marlene Aguilar protected his son Jason Ivler and all her pronouncements? Share your thoughts on this commentary

Go Forth and Blog, Benedict XVI told his Priests

It is a “gift from heaven” says the Vatican.

Invoking the vow of obedience promised to him, we may soon find new bloggers in the world wide web making posts from their convents and teaching gospel truths and doctrines, or simply sharing their personal endeavors as pastors.

Pope Benedict XVI’s new admonition to priests:  Go forth and blog!

The pope shared during the celebration of the World Day of Communications about the need for his priests to use cutting-edge technologies on preaching the Gospel and engage with other religions and cultures to foster ecumenical dialogue.

The spread of multimedia communications and its rich ‘menu of options’ might make us think it sufficient simply to be present on the Web…challenged to proclaim the Gospel by employing the latest generation of audiovisual resources.  Priests present in the world of digital communications should be less notable for their media savvy than for their priestly heart, their closeness to Christ.

Amen to that, your Holiness.

At this point of technological advancements and the use of internet as the main information and communication super highway, the pope who is also very visible in Facebook and YouTube, suggests the use of images, videos, blogs and animated applications to priests on their ministry. With most of the youth into social networks and blogging, the pope finds it a great opportunity for priests to use this new media on reflecting theological and spiritual principles and the teachings of the Church in the modern day world.

Though the Vatican is not asking for all priests to put up a blog account, what the Pope wants is for the Church to basically open up its doors to technological advancements in the field of digital communications to further its teachings on fostering a just and humane community.

Personally, this is good news.  The old ways of priests and Church ministers on doing their pastoral work are not really working out that much now.

The Church is obviously lagging behind, with most priests and pastors still having mentalities (and personalities) dating back the colonial era; still using the pulpit and traditional ways of preaching and teaching.  At this age, these shepherds really need to work hard on looking for their flock and not simply threaten believers into painting images of a burning furnace just to believe what they teach.

However, I must say that some priests though, before engaging on the use of the new media should first learn to open up themselves, to be more tolerant and have the spirit of openness to dialogue and diversity of views, as the blogosphere is no-no place for close-minded and self-righteous individuals.  It is a place of dialogue, and convergence of different views.

Hopefully, this could also be discussed on the Second National Congress of the Clergy of the Philippines.

Some priests, religious and bishops are already doing this blogging platform like Fr. Felmas of SVD, Br. Arian Lopez of De La Salle Brothers and Archbishop Oscar Cruz.

Vatican spokersperson though admitted that “those who have a certain age will struggle a bit more.”

I am more excited though to see Cardinal Vidal blogging about GMA.  Ahem.

What do you think of the Pope’s move to telling his priests to use new media and specifically blogging on their ministry?  What are the difficulties that some priests may encounter on using blogging as a means to share the Gospel and the Church teachings?

What are those Qualities of a Presidential Candidate that Would Make you Vote for Him?

I must admit here, that up to now no one among the presidentiables has yet captured my heart (or more precisely my vote). I do already have though some standard or perceived qualities of a presidentiable that I am looking for, to guide me on whom to eventually vote.

So with the use Facebook (which I have been loving lately, no, not because of Farmville), I made a quick online interview of known bloggers and friends one late night.  Good thing, these people are nocturnal creatures on FB.

I thought that their views could at least give us the idea and hear some sentiments of bloggers regarding our aspiring presidential candidates more than the usual exchange of RTs on Twitter and commenting on each other’s tweets; and the upcoming national elections.

I asked them this question:  What are those qualities of a presidentiable that would make you vote for him?

Carlos Celdran carlosceldran.com

Vision, strength and independence from sycophants and sipsips.  Someone good with the military and thinks on his own.  Too many advisers scare me.  I want one man one plan but then its already obvious I’m rooting for Teodoro.

Kevin Ray Chua kevinraychua.com

I’m looking for honesty, integrity and reform-minded [presidentiable].

Tyrone Solee themillionaireacts.com

Actually, I read about a blog post before about Miriam Defensor’s credentials and I really salute her. Talagang bow ako sa kanya but sa palagay ko we need a leader who is unselfish; a true leader serves.

Tonyo Cruz tonyocruz.com

I want our country to have a great president who has a track record, a practical program and commitment to lead our people.  We have too many great problems. A good president may not be enough. We have too many great problems. A good president may not be enough. Honestly, wala pa akong mapili. Out of my choices na sina Teodoro, Estrada.

Join in the little online survey.  How about you folks, what are the qualities that you are looking for a presidential candidate that will make you write his name on your ballot come May 2010 national polls?

Politicians on Pantyliners, The Most Ingenious Campaign Strategy There Is

Campaigns to have another shot at government posts are heating up…and getting more creative, sometimes to the extent of becoming so tasteless and stupid.

See that ticket from a bus line flying on the roads of Cavite to Manila with Biazon for 2010! I don’t exactly know if this current Senator Biazon or his son Rep. Biazon being campaigned on this ticket. (kindly click the ticket photo to see the enlarged version with Biazon 2010 written on it)

Worse is this said to be pantyliner reported on TV Patrol from its Boto Mo Ipatrol Mo segment, bearing a face of mana named Soy Oruga Mercado who is most probably going to run for a public office. I don’t exactly know too if this is a pantyliner (the TV anchor said its a pantyliner for Christ’s sake!) or a wet wipes, could also be sandwich too (LOL) but it will be unfortunate for the place it is intended to land on with a shameless politician sponsoring its sanitation.

pantyliner

See?  Wahahaha!  I don’t know if I want to freak out, cut off my head or just simply relish the moment having a good dose of laughter.

Let us not be surprised then if we will also soon receive underwear and toilet paper with politicians’ faces begging us to vote for them come May 2010 polls.  That is what we get when politicians do not have billions for massive TV ads, pantyliners and bus tickets with their faces.  LOL

Hey guys, any thoughts about these very creative election campaigns?  Any more creative ways you can suggest for our politicians to do their campaigning maybe aside from pantyliners with their faces on it (LOL!)?

Write your comments please…each commenter will receive these election freebies from Mr. Biazon and Mr. Mercado, LOL!

Most Notorious Chronic Absentee In Congress, My Kababayan!???

“Ay te,” a very common Ilonggo expression venting off exasperation and a bit of ridicule. And that is what most of us will feel about this.

Most of us when absent from work will not receive any pay on the particular days we were absent. No work, no pay for most average Pinoy toiling each day in order to provide for all the basic needs of the family.

But that is not the case for the “most notorious chronic absentee” lawmaker in town, may kababayan Rep. Jules Ledesma IV of the 1st district of Negros Occidental. Despite being a total non-entity in Congress even the most crucial legislations being debated on the floor, he is still set to receive his entire salary, bonuses and perks (pork barrel) so long as he attends the last two sessions of the 14th Congress as has been “requested” by the Speaker himself Prospero Nograles. Wow, this is I think the best job in the world, when being absent, your boss is requesting you to attend the last two working days in order for you to receive your full salary and bonuses.

The notorious representative Ledesma who is also the husband of sexy actress Assunta da Rossi and by the way one of the richest lawmaker with a net worth of P427.529 million even insisted that his laziness on attending the sessions in Congress has made him work harder for his constituents, and that he was “neither frivolous nor whimsical” about his notoriety. Only that he worked harder outside the halls of the Lower House near the comfort of his home. Maybe, the effect of marrying a sexy and younger wife? We can never can tell.

“In spirit and in substance, what I have done for my district cannot be denied,” said Ledesma as he argued that he was the one who really worked hard for the establishment of the San Carlos bio-energy plant, the first clean energy generation plant in the country, that in the end will make himself also a big beneficiary of the project being a haciendero in the province.

For now there are still no laws or ways for absenteeism in Congress to be punished (and I think this law will never be proposed by lawmakers), nor any leaders who have the will to discipline their fellow legislators. While people are working really hard everyday for a meager pay, our leaders are having a great time on their posts without being held accountable for their shortcomings.

Maybe he does not need anymore the salary for being so rich? Nah, then he should have not ran for office if he cannot even fulfill the most basic of things written on his job description.

This is where the great divide and obvious insensitivity of government leaders to the plight of the people has become clearer; on how they spend the hard-earned tax-payers money to paychecks of lazy officials and their capricious adventures while they always prey on the theme of knowing, feeling, and being with the poor when election day comes. Could be one of the greatest insult too I guess, when the citizens are already being robbed by their leaders of their hard-earned money and then also being used to perpetuate in power.

Maybe Jules Ledesma should try this time around to be a little bit lazy on helping his constituents in order the be industrious on fulfilling his obligation in congress; of simply just run for a local government post as maybe he was confused as to the real and main duty of legislators.

Hay, kababayan, even our school children are expelled from school for excessive absences, not a great example to the youth huh…you may know by now what could be a great New Year’s resolution.

What is your thought about the post, does Rep. Ledesma deserve to get his full salary, bonuses and perks despite being the most notorious absentee in congress? What should be done to him instead?

“Ang Ladlad will not Redound any Good of This Nation,” Look Who is Talking.

So it is not only the COMELEC and its Commissioners that “Ang Ladlad” and all homosexuals should be watching their backs against with.

Despite the most recent decision of the Supreme Court to reinstate the provisional accreditation of “Ang Ladlad’s” status and be included on the list of party-list groups on official ballots for the May 2010 elections, different sectors are decrying the decision of the highest court saying that the group will only push for “immoral, legislation.” So don’t be so happy and gay yet.

Bishops from the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines are mostly against the move of the Supreme Court as like what the COMELEC Commissioners had said on their faith-based, unconstitutional and unreasonable decision on disqualifying Ang Ladlad; that the group is already well-represented “especially in entertainment, so there is no need to represent them in Congress.”

But the harsher words, seemingly homophobic statements, (as if there are no homosexuals among their ranks, actually there is a good number too. You are right, they somewhat well represented), and irrational line of reasoning come from Bishop Crispin Varquez of Borongan. He says,

“There is a big possibility that they will push for immoral bills. They are already in favor or pre-marital sex and for sure they will push for same-sex marriage. That is why they should not be allowed in the party-list elections. What will happen to our government and society if all lawmakers we elect into office are immoral?”

Wow, those were heavy words folks. It’s as if our government is not already overflowing with immoral leaders, just aim your eyes at the Palace and in most government offices. Ooops, wait guys, Mr. Garci and Mr Abalos are calling me on my mobile phones. “Hello, Garci? Oh, I will have 200 from you?”

I am back. Well, maybe it is better for us to have macho politicians who are cheating us of our democratic rights and stealing our hard-earned money to lead us than having homosexuals in congress who will still by the way serve as minority member/s of the House of Representative if ever? Did I get it right “your Excellency”? Am I right, or I am just simply right?

For Bishop Emeritus Bacani, having Ang Ladlad in Congress is something that is within their constitutional right so long that they “exercise responsibility” and he is just more concerned with the advocacies that they are to push through that would be contradictory to the teachings of the Church.

Sorsogon Bishop Arturo Bastes and Caloocan Bishop Deogracias Iñeguez both believed Ang Ladlad will not do any good to this nation saying:

“There is abnormality in the situation. The Supreme Court should explain why they recognized this group. I (Bastes) think the COMELEC is right in disqualifying Ang Ladlad. I believe such a party-list will not redound any good of this nation.”

Woah, these bishops are really hot-headed, may have consumed lots “mompo”. Care for a halo-halo?

If we are to reassess whoever has done any good or brought ill to this nation, these bishops/the Catholic Church are also equally very much responsible why we have arrived into this kind social, moral and economic decay. You know what I mean; Diocese of Malacañang?

When it comes to homosexuality and issues that involve sexuality, most of them are like mad dogs and instant activists, but when corruption is being done here and there, many of them are as silent and as cold as those statues on altars, with one priest even saying that GMA is a gift from God likening her to Christ being crucified by her detractors for doing good. WTF?! If all priests are like this guy from the pulpit of Pampanga who puts GMA’s portrait side-by-side Jesus Christ, I would rather want to worship the sun and the mountains.

That is where the dual and split identity of some of our beloved bishops comes into the picture; there is separation of State and Church when it comes corruption issues, but there is no separation of Church and State, with the former bullying the latter when it comes to issues of sexuality (homosexuality, reproductive health to name a few).

To be more realistic, we have priests and bishops who are also homosexuals (thus, may also be not doing any good to this nation too?), and while homosexuals through Ang Ladlad may win a seat in the lower congress, they are to work for the affairs and concerns of the state, temporal matters may be a term for it; while the former work for as they say spiritual concerns. This is what our beloved bishops have forgotten. The burden of living out what they preach is way much heavier on their shoulders. Try to take a look at your priests and fellow bishops and seminaries first Your Excellencies, before you say and “judge” people who “will not do any good” to this nation. The “dark side” is also lurking actively somewhere there.

When bishops speak on this we-know-everything and we-are-right-you-are-immoral tone, I cannot help myself but think that they are also at the same time not trusting the capacity of people (or believers) to think for themselves and live out what was preached to them. Why recourse to this kind of mudslinging and name-calling. If ever bills were pushed for same-sex marriage, then let the people decide, let those politicians decide, have you forgotten that this is a Christian-dominated nation? Then, if you did your homework well on teaching the people and helping the people decide from their conscience, there is nothing to worry about and no need to pass on judgment to things that are not yet even happening.

If ever a bill on same-sex marriage was passed in the future, better ask yourself too Your Excellencies, certainly you failed somewhere, and not only throw tirades and casting stone at this small community of people. Only Pharisees do that.  Amen.

What I am trying to drive at is:  let us respect each other, certainly there are some norms that you bishops are trying to protect, but calling these groups short of immoral leaders and people who will not do good to this nation is already against your very preachings of justice, respect and love; it is just too much, unbecoming of shepherds of people.  No wonder why so many people are also leaving the Church for its very combative and antagonistic approach on moral and sensitive human issues.

What do you think about the article, with the bishops calling Ang Ladlad and the homosexuals in effect as immoral people who will not do any good to this nation? Do you agree with our Excellencies?

Pacquiao vs. Clottey Fight and Chicken Floyd’s Separate Ways

Arum says Mayweather never really wanted the fight from the very beginning and is a psychological coward.

Big-mouthed Mayweather on the other hand replied saying, Pacquiao is ill-advised, and his boxing nemesis ruined the talks for what could be the biggest boxing fight of the century.

Come on Floydie, think you can fool boxing fans the way you fool yourself?

The random drug-testing issue that Mayweather brought up during the negotiation was the not the real source of the botched super-mega-fight. Obviously, it is Mayweather himself, his over-inflated ego to protect his unblemished boxing record, and his being chicken. To simply put it, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a coward; his big mouth is certainly much bigger than his balls.

What Manny Pacquiao started on his boxing exploits to bring life to a sport that is already slowly being ripped apart by mixed martial arts is on the other hand being toppled down and ushered to the grave by the most flamboyant boxer we have ever witnessed, who earned from much smaller fighters.

Rewind.

After his lousy win over the much smaller Marquez, he said that if Manny wins and bring more money to the table from PPV against his bout with Cotto, Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight is on. And Manny did.

The problem with how the money is going to be split between the two fighters was a big issue as Big-mouthed Mayweather wanted the lion’s share. But as everything unfolds, he is not at all a lion and does not deserve the bigger chunk of the paycheck, as he is really a chicken after all.

Negotiations for the bout started, while the Mayweather camp is insinuating that Pacquiao was using performance-enhancing drugs despite the latter’s clear records on the Nevada State Athletic Commission; and the Mayweather camp not totally understanding the dynamics of their accusations.

To stop the father-and-son bad-mouthing of Manny-s reputation, they were sued; the best thing and the most proper thing to do, while Pacquiao’s camp is still on for the fight.

Now, the dream super bout will not happen, though Mayweather continuously tells the media that he is “still hoping” for the bout to be salvaged. That is total nonsense Floyd! Afraid for Manny to put a loss on his “0” and make his face bloody, swollen and ripped into pieces by power punches.

Manny Pacquiao vs. Joshua Clottey

It is official. Arum already announced Manny’s next fight is to be against former champion Joshua Clottey to be held at the Cowboys’ Stadium which can house up to 100,000 warm bodies. Clottey’s most recent fight was against Miguel Cotto who was sent by Pacquiao running for his dear life on their 11-round bout. On that fight, Clottey lost a very close bout; other boxing analysts say Clottey should have won the fight.

The bout with Clottey is set at 147 lbs, no catch weight for the champ; obviously fighting a much bigger fighter.

This is a dangerous fight for Manny to defend his new title as Clottey is a very strong fighter, resilient and a much-bigger opponent.

It may not be taking home ton-loads of cash compared to the botched fight planned against Mayweather, but Pacquiao only shows what boxing is really about: not all money Floydie, but a real quest for supremacy.

Mayweather vs. Hatton vs. Malignaggi?

With Pacman out of sight, Mayweather is happy to fight back in the ring for a sure win against sloppy fighters on March 13. Chicken Mayweather is eyeing a fight against Malignaggi or Ricky Hatton’s brother; two fighters that are not at par with Mayweather’s boxing class and level. Farce.

With the fallout of Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight, the latter has just sealed his notoriety with fighting lower class boxers, smaller opponents and worn-out champions. Well, a Pacquiao vs Clottey fight is far better than a Mayweather vs Malignaggi vs Hatton fight.

Mayweather should now be starting to consider shifting into another career for the IRS and foreclosure cases not ultimately catch up on him.

A real boxer is the one making his fists do the talking. And Manny has proven this on all of his fights even elevating his athletic skills to new heights with every fight. While Manny has been fighting much bigger opponents, Floydie is very much afraid of this little man from GenSan and instead looking for much smaller opponents to win without even knocking them out and claim for himself the title of the best boxer of the world. What duh!

How about Floydie, asking Oprah for a talk show instead of calling yourself the best pound-for-pound boxer, or even as a boxer. You talk too much! Afraid to get hit by Pacquiao, making your whole face bleeding and disfigured, and be found by the whole world running to mama?

And it is the wisest thing for Manny not to work anymore a fight against Floyd “Chicken” Mayweather, Pacman may just get infected with chicken flu, and let big-mouthed Mayweather suffer laying more eggs fighting against IRS agents.
