I hope this is not too late, nonetheless, I would still want to share this news to all.
Well, the “jejemons” have been partying coz aside from their bet “Jejemon” Binay winning the vice-presidential race against “Marred” Roxas, their incomprehensible culture coined by the word “jejemon’ has been declared as the Word of the Year for 2010 by Sawikaan.
The conference was held last July 29-30 in UP Diliman.
Out of the many other words that had become common lingo for many Filipinos, “jejemon” rose to the top spot due its influence not only on language but also on culture.
Other words are “load,” “emo,” tarpo,” “spam,” “unli,’ “solb,” “ampatuan,” and “namumutbol.” On the other hand, the name of the typhoon that had ravaged the country late last year was ranked second. “Ondoy” caused so much damage to lives and properties that such kinds of situations that Filipinos experience on their daily living have been usually called by many or described as “ondoy.”
For sure, these words will soon be included on our modern-day Filipino dictionaries.
“Bebemons” will for sure campaign harder for them to make it on the list next time. Jejejejejeje!

Whew! I don’t know if I should be happy or what.
Can’t wait to see it in the modern day Fil. dictionary. But if I have to vote, I guess i’ll vote for “unli”

Mixed thoughts about this the word of the year indeed. Well, the jejemons are very happy at the expense of the goal of communication: to make the message be understood by others. hehehehe

What an exceptionally moronic choice. And it took them two days to decide that? Funny they had to justify the choice by citing the word’s influence on language and culture.
Oh, really. Never mind that jejemon looks and smells like a discharge of an incontinent mind.
Wala lang. Forgive me if my contempt has reached unli proportion. Na-Ondoy na yata kasi discernment ng mga ito eh. Sus ginoo.

Am I seeing a “bull”, LOL!
Yes Bro, they spent time and energy to actually vote for this word to be included on our dictionary. But they never said though if this was a source of bad influence to the language or not…basta na-influence, yun na yun.
So this is the work of linguists nowadays bro, eheheheh!
