If there is one government official in the Philippines who should be sitting not only as a secretary of Department of Energy and Department of Environment and Natural Resources that should be no less than Mr. Angelo Reyes. Yes, Sec. Angie.
Despite all his incompetence since he was thrust into the public office as a cabinet secretary, he was always being recycled by her “cute†boss. He is like an energy that cannot be destructed nor destroyed but only is converted into something new. He was with the DENR, DILG and now DOE. He is superman, really; a Jack of all trades yet master of none.
With the energy crisis now strongly being felt by all, the Sec. Reyes initially said everything will be fine and then now calls for her “cute†boss to be granted emergency powers in order to solve the issue, and proposes that the government incur P5.5 billion pesos to buy generation sets. Each set than can only generate 2MW and will try to fill more than 100 MW of electric shortage in order to supply the power lines of Mindanao. And that is what you call really an ingenious, hardworking energy secretary. Obviously, the emergency powers only try to cover up the long years of neglect and improper handling of the agency in line with power security concerns.
Why will the government push for buying those P5.5 billion worth of generation sets?
Well, as they say, in every disaster, real capitalists find gold mines. No, capitalist will make easy money with this scheme though at the end of the day some of them may also benefit from this proposal. P5.5 billion is such a big amount and if awarding of contracts and purchasing of equipment for government use has been proven by many to be always overpriced and padded with kickbacks by those who lobby for it, certainly, one can easily assume that this project and power crisis can easily become a milking cow for those who lobby for such proposal. Adding insult to injury.
I think that Angie Reyes and the government, more so the “cute†occupant of the Palace should have seen this problem already and had not waited for the crisis to be already in our midst crippling our daily activities and right to live an undisturbed life. For almost nine years of staying in power, she did nothing, same with the issue of petroleum and food security. And now that the crisis is already here, they are crying out loud to have emergency powers handed over to them on a silver platter.
So now, it is not only cheating that pays the cheater cartloads of cash and long years of staying in power; incompetence may also fatten your check book and may install your picture frame on many halls of government offices.
It is not only making business here that I see, but the power crisis most especially in Mindanao could easily become the seedbed of another poll fraud whenever GMA will have the emergency powers on that region. Now, that is I think a lot scarier than the government spending P5.5 billion pesos with some government officials earning their commission.
With the upcoming elections looming over our horizon, I think one important issue that we need to hear from our presidential aspirants is how they are to address our country’s need for energy security and stability.
I think that Philippines should already go for nuke. While nuclear energy could generate electricity by using the basic foundation of energy, we just contented ourselves for years with Angie Reyes who can neither be destructed nor destroyed, but could only be transformed and “transferred†to so many positions with the magic wand of his “cute†boss.
What do you think of the power crisis being experienced by the country? How do you see Sec. Reyes’ of the Deparment of Energy way of handling the crisis?

Incompetence now has become an understatement with regards to Sec Reyes’ performance as a cabinet official.
But hey, he’s just playing out what’s in the administration election play-book. So expect these power shortages to last until the election day and during the supposedly short canvassing period.
Something is just so fishy because why now, during an election season, does a power crisis unfold? And with the polls being automated this year, you can’t help but suspect that things are going to be messy once more.
Like Obi Wan Kenobi once said, “I have a bad feeling about this.”

We may even be doing some disservice to word incompetence when we are using it to refer to Angie Reyes.
That is indeed that scary part Bro. After all these long years of should have been preparation for energy security in the country, it is only now that they are crying out loud for more power in order to address the crisis…they have really never learned the words, “prevention is better than cure.”
Political machinations will be on the works in the Mindanao during elections…and who can ever even trust their words when they say that there will be no power shortage or problems during elections more so during canvassing? Only them.
They cannot rig the automated system of elections, then the logical thing to do is to cut what supplies electricity to these systems. Ingenious basterds!

Well Elmot, it just seem that “little girl” had brewed everything perfectly. For sure, there’s something with that P5.5B emergency budget. Let’s get the hell out of here!!!
Yeah, she can become a very good cook; cooking great recipes to make suffer even more.
Get out of here? It has been actually crossing my mind very often lately…but I don’t want to get lost in Pohnpei, ehehehhe!

Ha ha ha, I don’t wanna get lost there too. Probably it would be more practical if we get the ‘little girl’ out of the country
Hey, have you read the latest news about Sec. Angie? He wanted us to blame GOD! Oh my, and then he said he was just kidding! This is a sin! A blasphemy?
I agree, let us ship her maybe in North Korea? Or how about Somalia on pirate’s lair? Or better on the melting ice shelf of Antarctica?
Yeah, read that article and this guy is really really stupid! I am making a post about it.

Will wait for that Elmot. Sabayan natin ang init ng panahon sa pagkulo ng mga dugo natin, ahihihih..
And I believe, she don’t need any special or emergency powers to address this growing problem about electricity. Maybe half of that Php 5.5B budget is just going to the SOP of every cabinet and member of this “emergency project”! Such a waste of money!
Same here, they are just making the welfare of the country hostage into this power crisis and as if we have no choice then but to give her that special power she is lusting for. They could already been jailed in the first place for their incompetence after all these years of neglect…and now, they can make easy money with the crisis that affects us all. A bunch of crap!
