Very absurd Bro…yeah read her dissenting opinion and I really can’t understand where in the world these majority of the magistrates has found a loophole, a gray area on a very clear portion of the constitution…

I have read also the deliberation on this part on midnight appointments on the Con-Com…and there too, the issue is all settled.

Well, Morales as Chief Justice? That is like hoping against hope with this kind of administration.

Actually there is an alternative to the majority view of the Court. I suggest reading the dissenting opinion of Justice Conchita Morales-Carpio. You’d laugh at the how ironic and absurd the majority decision was. Which is why I’m now praying that she be named the next Chief Justice.

Ganito ako pag malapit na ang Holy Week. Medyo sober. At nagbabait-baitan. Alam mo na para pag dating ng self-flagellation time on Holy Week konting hampas lang sa likod ang gagawin ko. Deductible kaya un. Ahehehe.

What baffles me though aside from the frustrations that GMA has caused many, is that the Supreme Court that should have been isolated from partisan politics has already been reversing its decisions lately, even those issues that were already settled. Why? To appease some people and patrons?

Parang pwede ka na ring maging Supreme Court justice the way you wrote your comment ah ehhehe!

I’ve read your post and then I went to other blogs. Why? Because I can’t quite make up my mind how to react to your post.

Let me say at the outset that I share your mounting frustration at the turn of events. Having said that here’s my view. After duly polling the voices in my head and having divided the house, here’s “our” opinion: we find in favor of the Supreme Court by the slimmest of margin.

No viable alternative here in my view. I can say the decision sucks till I’m blue in the face, but nothing short of another revolution can change that. The SC has the last say on the matter.

Is it naive to hope that the next SC chief justice will uphold and be loyal to the Constitution much more than to the appointing power? Maybe, but I’m hoping he or she does.
