Perhaps you’ve misunderstood my cheeky comment, bro. Surviving from my end means not acquiescence or resignation to our lot. It’s not turning a blind eye to the bad things that happen to us. I’m merely taking comfort in the fact that no matter how brazenly cunning and toxic these politicians are they come and they go. And we remain, we survive.

At what cost to us as a nation, you’d say. Yes, I’d give you that. Perhaps it’s a naive belief we’d overcome. And we just might.

Surely, you’d hesitate to begrudge survivors of injustice and oppression some measure of victory however Pyhrric? No shame at all having survived every time one rises above one’s humanity. It’s a toast to their indomitable will to prevail.
