Why I Blog About Willie Revillame, Conrado de Quiros, Sen. Lito Lapid, and GMA

Why have I chosen to blog about socio-political issues which is simply defined by many (and some of my students) as = “boring”.

I could have just blogged about different sex scandals and mingled with thousands of online perverts and pedophiles and maybe even become the newest BFF of Hayden Kho.  I could have just blogged about the ethical treatment of animals and storm on each of my post KFC’s delicious fried chicken, in return having Pam Anderson vigorously stripping me of fur coats and leather jackets.  I could have just blogged about my life’s non-sense adventures and sing “I did it my way!”  Bang!!!

But I don’t want to end my life so easily with just an old song.

This is one question that always confronts me whenever I blog hop like a grasshopper on the long lists of blogs overcrowding my two Google readers.

Why am I blogging about political issues in the first place?

Some blogging friends are actually sending me apologies after I make a post (which I really appreciate guys, hu hu hu), for not being able to participate on the discussions on my posts that primarily center on socio-political issues in the country because they are not really so familiar and at ease with my topics.

Sometimes I am asking myself if I write so bad that people are not excited to join in the political discussion, or political issues are simply more often than not, not as exciting as Farmville, Mafia Wars, Katy Perry and Darna.

I totally understand these blogging buddies.  I really love and appreciate them.  With even just their visits on my blog, I already take it as a heart-warming expression of looking at what I am up to and how am I doing.  Thanks guys.  No need to comment.  But if you comment on my posts, I will send you a box of chocolate on X’mas Day.  *wink*

We definitely all have our own blogging tastes, our own styles, perspectives, opinions and way of doing things that may seem too ridiculous for others.  But at the end of our blogging day, the question that will bug us like our Moms constantly asking us to fix our ultra-congested rooms is, “Are we happy with what we are doing, with what we are writing?”  “Are we fulfilled?”

We may come to wonder why, a doctor writes with so much passion heavenly poetry about bananas; or a man could muster of living with 13 blogs under his belt; or an educator could come up with great literary pieces on her blog; or a law student in a prestigious university could share with great enthusiasm the juiciest of showbiz buzz daily; or a missionary Priest could actually blog with wit, humour and sincerity his missionary work on a far-flung place of the country to inspire his readers and invite young men to the priesthood; or a superb blogger and writer could be so accommodating to his readers like they have been friends since time immemorial; or why a blogger untiringly targets keywords with precision and efficiency; or to simply put it, why we blog so passionately over what we blog.

I guess the simple and general answer is we are all happy and fulfilled with what we are doing, with what we are blogging, no matter what it is.  What we blog makes us happy, makes us feel free, makes us real with ourselves.  Those guys I mentioned are happy with what they are doing…and what they are doing best.

That is why I am blogging about Willie Revillame, Conrado de Quiros, Sen. Lito Lapid and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.  I feel the exhilarating sensation when writing a post about them! I am just do damn happy and free.  PoOf!

How about you guys?  Why are you blogging about your specific niche/topic?  What makes you continue to blog about your chosen niche/topic with so much passion?
