Sorry but politics is not my forte so I can’t really contribute to this post except say that we need to elect politicians who are honest and not greedy and who will really serve the people and their constituents. But then, its hard to find those types of politicians these days, kinda like an endangered species.

I totally agree bro. Well said, well said.

Corruption and patronage politics are so sickening. I would not content of seeing infrastructures being mounted here and there knowing that such projects are padded with 10-20% over the price or even higher...and politicians are feasting on these. It is condoning the existence of corruption by saying " ok lang un, at least may project".

I say, let’s scrap the “pork barrel” altogether. A representative’s mandate is to represent his/her constituents’ interest in Congress, create and update laws, and stand as oversight on the Executive; and not make “projects” like construction of infrastructures etc.

“Pork barrel” is not only a primary source of corruption, it is a source of patronage politics which is one of the biggest hurdles in our country’s progress.
